UzSWLU students returned from internship in the Sultanate of Oman

Tojiyeva Zamira, an intern teacher from the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice at UzSWLU, together with 3rd-year students of the same department, participated in a short-term training program at the prestigious Sultan Qaboos University in the Sultanate of Oman from April 11 to June 8 this year.

 

 

During the program, they gained theoretical knowledge about international evaluation systems such as CEFR, ACTFL, and APL, studied advanced methods and teaching strategies, and participated in classes as both active and passive interns. Through field trips, they also explored Oman’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

On April 19, students and teachers met with Abdusalom Khatamov, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Oman, to discuss university activities and future areas of cooperation.

On April 27, they attended the International Book Fair in Muscat, where the book “Are You a Translator?” by UzSWLU Professor Ahmad al-Zubaydi was presented.

On May 8, a cultural evening was held at Sultan Qaboos University featuring Uzbek national cuisine and stage performances, showcasing the rich traditions of the Uzbek people.

 

 

After the program concluded, a meeting was held on June 13 at UzSWLU with Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov and university officials, including the Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies and relevant departments. They discussed the knowledge and experience gained, upcoming academic-practical projects, and international cooperation opportunities.

Students shared their impressions and expressed gratitude for the opportunities provided by the university.
