Visit of British Council Representatives to UzSWLU

On April 28, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with a delegation of the British Council led by Adrian Chadwick, Director for the Wider Europe region.

The delegation included Michael Houlgate, Director of the British Council in Uzbekistan; Jamila Gulmova, Deputy Director; Sadoqat Khojayeva, Project Manager; Nigora Karimova, AELLCA Project Coordinator; and Mashkhura Tursunova, English Language Projects Coordinator.

The meeting was attended on behalf of the university by Rector I. Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation O. Yusupov, Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev, Dean of the 3rd English Faculty I. Khaydarov, and Dean of the 2nd English Faculty Z. Bazarov.

During the event, a presentation on the university’s activities was delivered. Rector I. Tukhtasinov provided detailed information about the university’s key achievements, international partnerships, and modern educational processes.

The discussion focused on initiatives aimed at improving the qualifications of English language teachers, particularly the AELLCA project designed to develop English language education in Central Asia, expanding cooperation with British universities in inclusive education, and involving native speakers in the teaching process.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reached agreements on implementing promising projects and further strengthening cooperation.
