Visit of the UzSWLU Delegation to Georgia: A New Stage of Cooperation

On April 2, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University I. Tuxtasinov and Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev visited Telavi State University in Georgia. As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the University Rector, Shalva Tchkadua, and Head of the International Relations Department, Tamar Aslanishvili.

 

 

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on the priority tasks identified at the intergovernmental level. In particular, they discussed the following issues:
— establishing a Georgian Language Center at UzSWLU;
— introducing Georgian language instruction;
— training translators;
— developing exchange programmes;
— implementing joint research projects;
— organizing summer camps for students.

Shalva Tchkadua expressed his support for the proposed initiatives and emphasized his readiness to expand cooperation.

Following the meeting, a session was held with the participation of the leadership and faculty members of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Humanities. During the session, a video presentation showcasing the activities and achievements of UzSWLU was demonstrated.

In the course of the meeting, I. Tuxtasinov informed the participants about the reforms being implemented in the field of education in Uzbekistan, as well as the opportunities being created for young people, and answered their questions.

 

 

The parties also exchanged views on teaching the Georgian language, developing modern teaching materials, and strengthening academic cooperation. It was noted that the necessary conditions would be created in these areas.

At the end of the visit, a cooperation agreement was signed between the two universities.
