2026-06-17 11-33 Within the framework of the First Forum of Rectors of Uzbekistan and Spain Universities held in Barcelona, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU) and the University of Barcelona.
The primary objective of this agreement is to establish a solid legal framework for scientific, educational, and technical cooperation between the Faculty of Philology and Communication of the University of Barcelona and Uzbekistan State World Languages University, as well as to strengthen collaboration in the fields of education and research.
The agreement envisages cooperation in the following areas:
— organizing exchange programs for faculty members, researchers, and students;
— exchanging scientific and educational materials, research outputs, and publications;
— developing professional training courses and internship opportunities for students and academic staff;
— participating jointly in conferences, seminars, colloquia, exhibitions, and other scientific and practical events;
— establishing joint doctoral programs;
— creating joint research groups.
The practical implementation of this cooperation will be carried out through annual programs developed by mutual agreement between the parties. These programs will be approved by the competent authorities of both institutions and, when necessary, regulated through separate specific agreements.
The agreement was signed by Professor Joan Guàrdia Olmos, Rector of the University of Barcelona, and Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
