Regulations on the Procedure for Practical Training of Students at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, attached to Order No. 188 of June 25, 2022.
CHAPTER 1. General Provisions

This regulation is developed for the purpose of designing, approving, and organizing the procedure for the practical training of students at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.

The following terms are used in these regulations:

Practical training: A component of the educational process aimed at reinforcing theoretical knowledge and developing practical skills and qualifications through real-world production conditions.

Receiving organization: An organization with which a contract is signed in accordance with the procedures established by the university, providing the necessary conditions for students to undergo practical training.

University practical training supervisor: A professor or teacher of the relevant department of the university who is responsible for supervising practical training as part of the curriculum.

Receiving organization's practical training supervisor: An employee of the receiving organization, appointed by its head, who introduces students to safety protocols, assists in the development of practical skills, and evaluates the competencies gained during the practical training.
Practical training for bachelor’s and master’s students is carried out systematically, starting from the second year, based on the practical training program developed by the university and approved by the receiving organization in accordance with the curriculum.
Practical training sessions for general education and specialty subjects in bachelor’s and master’s programs can be organized in leading production enterprises, institutions, and organizations, with qualified specialists involved. These sessions may be recognized as part of the practical training, provided that the hours allocated in the curriculum are fully completed.
The content of the practical training is determined by its schedule and program.
The distribution of students to workplaces for practical training should start from the second year, not at the end of the course, and all types of practical training should be carried out at organizations designated for this purpose.
The type of practical training is determined based on the specific needs of the university’s programs, and it is approved by the university council in accordance with the curriculum. The duration of the practical training should align with the operating period of the receiving organization.
In the agreement between the university and the receiving organization, a clause may be added to temporarily employ students in paid positions during their practical training.
Practical training is mandatory for students. Those unable to complete their practical training due to valid reasons must complete it at another designated time, according to the university rector’s order.
CHAPTER 2. Organization of Practical Training
8. Practical training is organized based on the agreements between the university and the receiving organizations.
The university and receiving organization agree on the terms of organizing and conducting practical training, including the subject of the contract, the rights and obligations of the parties, the training process, the contract’s validity period, cancellation terms, and liabilities.

The university rector is responsible for organizing and conducting practical training.

The pro-rector for academic affairs, the head of the educational-methodical department, the faculty dean, the department chair, and the practical training supervisor are responsible for ensuring the full implementation of the practical training schedule and program.

The primary document regulating the activities of students and practical training supervisors is the practical training program.
The program must meet the qualification requirements and content of the curriculum and reflect the latest advancements in the relevant field.
The practical training program consists of the following main sections:

The goals and objectives of practical training;
-
The content of practical training;
-
The schedule of practical training;
-
The evaluation criteria for practical training;
-
The requirements for the practical training report.
Additionally, the program may include methodological recommendations, required literature, and documents related to strengthening the knowledge gained during the study period.

The practical training supervisor’s workload is determined based on the university’s standards for academic hours.

Before organizing practical training, the rector, along with the designated responsible persons, ensures the creation of the necessary orders and lists of students, as well as the allocation of students to practical training sites.

The university’s educational-methodical department, in coordination with other relevant departments, organizes the material and methodological support for practical training.

Students may also complete their practical training at foreign organizations based on agreements between the university and the receiving organizations.
CHAPTER 3. Supervision of Practical Training

The tasks of the “Marketing and Student Practices” department include:

Organizing all types of practical training placements;
-
Signing agreements with receiving organizations for the upcoming academic year;
-
Notifying receiving organizations of the students' practical training;
-
Analyzing the results of practical training and reporting suggestions to the rector;
-
Studying international and national best practices and recommending their implementation.

The responsibilities of the faculty department in organizing practical training include:
-
Submitting the practical training schedule and program for approval two months before the start;
-
Formulating draft orders for each program’s practical training;
-
Organizing and distributing the necessary practical training documents to students;
-
Coordinating students’ arrival and return to the practical training site with the department chairs and deans;
-
Monitoring the execution of the practical training program by the receiving organization and the students' reporting.

The practical training supervisor from the university participates in assigning students to practical training sites, provides safety instructions, and ensures the planning of students’ work schedules.

The receiving organization’s responsibilities include providing the necessary work conditions, assigning qualified mentors, and ensuring students receive the necessary resources.
CHAPTER 4. Rights and Duties of Students During Practical Training

Students have the right to:
-
Familiarize themselves with the practical training location, schedule, program, and procedures;
-
Express opinions regarding practical training and obtain necessary information;
-
Study the methodological materials and receive guidance from practical training supervisors.
Students are obligated to:
-
Complete all tasks outlined in the practical training schedule and program;
-
Maintain the practical training diary and comply with organizational rules;
-
Submit the required reports and follow the internal regulations of the receiving organization.
CHAPTER 5. Phases of Practical Training

Practical training is divided into three phases:
-
Preparatory phase;
-
Main phase;
-
Final phase.
CHAPTER 6. Conclusion of Practical Training

At the end of practical training, the student submits a written report and a signed practical training diary to the designated supervisor at the university.

The evaluation process is carried out by the relevant department, with the participation of the faculty dean, department chair, and other responsible persons.

The results of practical training, including the evaluation, are considered for the student’s progression to the next year of study.

The student may be evaluated according to the established assessment criteria outlined in the practical training program.
