Visa Application Procedure for Foreign Citizens Entering the Republic of Uzbekistan (for Foreign Specialists and Students)
According to the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons may enter the territory of Uzbekistan only on the basis of a visa. Foreign citizens accepted for work or study at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages must send a scanned copy of their international passport in PDF format to the email address of the university's international cooperation department. Responsible university staff will process the visa within 15 working days based on a written request (visa application) submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The university has the authority to issue visas for foreign citizens for periods ranging from 15 days to 365 days (1 year). Foreign citizens can obtain their visa through diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Uzbekistan abroad, as well as through Tashkent International Airport. For this purpose, foreign citizens must submit their passport to the consular office and receive the visa within the specified timeframe.
Foreign citizens are required to notify the university's international cooperation department of their arrival on the day of entry or the following day. If a foreign citizen fails to register within 72 hours of entering Uzbekistan, they will be fined in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Visa Extension Procedure:
Foreign citizens can extend their visa while in the Republic of Uzbekistan through the Main Department of Migration and Citizenship of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its territorial divisions. For this purpose, 15 days before the visa expiration date, the foreign citizen must submit their passport to the responsible officer of the university's international cooperation department. Based on a written application, the university officer submits the documents for visa extension to the Main Department of Migration and Citizenship or its territorial divisions. The visa is processed and issued within 10 working days. Within 72 hours (3 working days) of receiving the visa, the responsible university officer registers the foreign citizen with the local migration and citizenship office.
