The Department of Russian Language and Teaching Methodology has been operating since 2018, following the division of the "Russian Philology" department into two: "Modern Russian Language" and "Russian Language and Teaching Methodology."

ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE FACULTY MEMBERS
In the period 2023-2025, faculty members defended dissertations and obtained scientific degrees:

  • Yelena A. Lagay - Doctoral Dissertation on "Competency-based Approach to Developing Speech Culture in University Students" (DSc)

  • Z.O. Salakhidinova - Doctoral Dissertation on "Lexico-Grammatical Features of Phraseological Units in Russian Speech" (PhD)

  • I.A. Cherginskaya - Doctoral Dissertation on "Teaching Bilingual Students in Russian to Express Conditional Relationships" (PhD)

In the Russian Language and Teaching Methodology Department, there are 7 independent researchers assigned to specialties 13.00.02 – Educational Theory and Methodology (Russian Language) and 10.00.04 – Languages and Literature of European, American, and Australian Peoples (Philological Sciences).

INTERNATIONAL COLLABORATION
Between 2023 and 2024, agreements were made with international higher educational institutions. These include Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan), M.V. Lomonosov North (Arctic) Federal University, Belarusian State University (Belarus), and M.A. Auezov South Kazakhstan State University (Kazakhstan).

In March 2024, a contract was signed between Uzbekistan State University of World Languages and St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU) for administering the Russian Language Proficiency Test as a foreign language.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
As part of the collaboration agreement with SPbSU, from April 23 to May 25, 2024, the department head, E.A. Lagay, Associate Professor A.B. Rahmonov, and Senior Teacher I.A. Cherginskaya participated in a professional development program at St. Petersburg State University (Russia) focused on the "TRKI Tester School" program.

SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
In April 2023, Professor D.R. Jumanova lectured on the "Russian Language Teaching in Secondary and Higher Education" at Kazan Federal University (Russia), as part of her course for undergraduate students and first-year master’s students.

Faculty members have actively participated in international conferences in recent years. For example, Prof. D.S. Kulmamatov participated in the XV Assembly of the Russian World in Moscow, Russia.

CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The department is actively engaged in promoting moral and educational activities that contribute to students' personal development. Recent events include visits to museums and exhibitions, as well as participation in cultural trips and competitions.
