UzSWLU Celebrates the 36th Anniversary of Granting Uzbek the Status of State Language
On October 20, the Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted a literary and musical event titled "My Mother Tongue – Be Eternal, Be Safe!" dedicated to the 36th anniversary of Uzbek being granted the status of the state language.
The event was organized in collaboration between the Dean of the Faculty of English Philology No. 2, Zokir Mehrikulovich Bozarov, and the Department of Uzbek Language and Literature.
The event was opened by the university rector, Doctor of Philology, Professor Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov. In his speech, he spoke about the role of the state language in national life, its unifying power in society, and state policies aimed at enhancing the prestige of the Uzbek language.
The celebration began with the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was followed by a dance performance “You are the language of glory honored in the Constitution”, a poetic composition “Uzbek Language, Stay Eternal!”, and the song “Let My Language Resound in Happiness and Prosperity”, all of which left a strong impression on the audience.
Among the performers were Professor Qozokboy Yo‘ldoshev, People's Artist of Uzbekistan Zamira Suyunova, poet and actor Erkin Bozorov, and Mahbuba Khojimatova, a singer from the “When the Veterans Sing” ensemble.
The event was further enlivened by a theatrical performance “Repressions” by students, video greetings from international students, and a comedic act by the faculty's KVN (student comedy) team.
In addition, winners of essay, video, and challenge competitions were ceremoniously awarded. The event concluded with the song “My Mother Tongue – My Soul and Heart.”
The celebration saw active participation from all faculty deans, professors, students, and guests.
