2026-06-08 11-20 10th Meeting of the Council of Uzbekistan State World Languages University Held
On June 5, the 10th meeting of the Council of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University was held. The meeting was chaired by the University Rector, Professor Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov.
The agenda included a range of issues related to key areas of the university’s activities. In particular, the implementation of laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, presidential decrees, resolutions and orders, government decisions, and documents of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as well as the handling of appeals from individuals and legal entities were discussed.
The meeting also reviewed the results of admission to independent doctoral studies (PhD, DSc) for the third quarter of 2026, approval of academic supervisors and consultants, departments, and dissertation topics.
Reports were presented on organizing meaningful leisure activities for students, improving the effectiveness of work with foreign professors and international students, enhancing legal literacy among academic staff, employees, and students, as well as the organization of student internships at enterprises and organizations.
Under the “Miscellaneous” section, issues such as awarding academic titles and recommending staff for positions, doctoral-related activities of university employees, outcomes of international business trips, reports on the scientific electronic journal “Foreign Languages in Uzbekistan” and the university web portal, as well as other organizational matters were discussed.
Additionally, several faculty members were recommended for academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor, and candidates for departmental positions were considered through competitive selection.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the proposal to confer the title of “Honorary Professor of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University” on Senior Lecturer Ahmad Jasim Abbas Al Zubaidi from the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice of the Faculty of Translation was approved.
The meeting concluded with the adoption of relevant decisions on all agenda items and the definition of priority tasks for the future.
