A delegation from the Uzbekistan State World Languages University visited the city of Nukus as part of the “Do‘stlik Festival” (Friendship Festival) organized in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The delegation, led by the university’s Rector, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, included faculty members, tutors, and 43 active students. The festival served as an important platform for strengthening cooperation among young people, exchanging experiences, and fostering cultural and educational ties.

On the first day of the festival, the participants received a warm welcome and were accommodated at the Nukus Branch of Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies. They also took part in the gastronomic event “99 Dishes from Aral Fish,” where they became acquainted with the rich national cuisine and culinary heritage of Karakalpakstan. During the event, Uzbekistan State World Languages University presented the branch with a collection of fiction and academic literature.

As part of the festival program, students visited historical and cultural landmarks in Nukus. In particular, they toured the I.V. Savitsky State Museum of Arts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan and the Karakalpakstan State Museum of Local Lore, where they explored the region’s rich history, art, and cultural heritage. These excursions further strengthened students’ interest in historical memory and national values.

One of the most significant events of the festival was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between Uzbekistan State World Languages University and the Nukus Branch of Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Livestock and Biotechnologies. The memorandum aims to expand collaboration in education, scientific research, academic exchange, joint projects, and international programs, bringing cooperation between the two higher education institutions to a new level.

Throughout the festival, students actively participated in sports competitions, demonstrating their skills in football, volleyball, and table tennis. In addition, within the framework of the “One Book – One Thousand Friends” project, the university delegation donated nearly 600 books to Secondary School No. 43 in the Kungrad district, making a valuable contribution to promoting a culture of reading among young people.

At the final stage of the festival, the delegation took part in the environmental campaign “Youth Protects the Aral Sea” held in the Muynak district. The students gained valuable knowledge and insights into the environmental challenges associated with the Aral Sea, their consequences, and environmental protection issues. Lasting several days, the Friendship Festival became a memorable youth initiative that contributed to strengthening friendship and solidarity among young people, promoting cultural and educational cooperation, and increasing environmental and social responsibility.
