On April 9, within the framework of the 150th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union of the United Nations, a meeting was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University with a representative of the Brazilian delegation — Victor Born Portella (the official in charge of Uzbekistan affairs at the Brazilian Embassy in Moscow).
The meeting was attended by the Rector of UzSWLU, I. Tukhtasinov; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, A. Nasirov; Head of the International Cooperation Department, Kh. Yuldashev; Dean of the Faculty of Roman-Germanic Philology, Kh. Hakimov; and Head of the Spanish Language Department, D. Bakhronova.
During the conversation, a number of issues were discussed, including:

the outcomes of the visit to Brazil;

ways to expand cooperation with Brazilian higher education institutions, in particular:

establishing exchange programs for students, teachers, and doctoral candidates;

organizing professional development and internship programs for teachers of Portuguese and other foreign languages;

hosting international conferences, seminars, and webinars;
-
engaging a Portuguese language instructor at UzSWLU.

In addition, the sides exchanged views on launching Uzbek and Russian language courses for Brazilian citizens, involving them in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs, and organizing summer education programs for Brazilian students.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the parties put forward important proposals regarding prospects for future cooperation.
