A Meeting Was Held with Representatives of the Baskerville Institute (USA)
On March 6, 2026, a meeting was held with Bahman Bakhtiari, Director of the Baskerville Institute, and his assistant Thomas Packham. The meeting was attended by the Rector of O‘zbekiston davlat jahon tillari universiteti, Ilxomjon Tuxtasinov, Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev, and the department’s leading specialist K. Alimova.
During the meeting, Rector I. Tukhtasinov briefly introduced the university’s activities, its position in international rankings, and its international cooperation partnerships. In turn, Bahman Bakhtiari presented information about the activities of the Baskerville Institute and its cooperation with higher education institutions in Uzbekistan, including Toshkent davlat yuridik universiteti, O‘zbekiston milliy universiteti, Samarqand davlat chet tillari instituti, Namangan davlat chet tillari instituti, as well as the O‘zbekiston Yoshlar ittifoqi.

The U.S. side also noted that 89 foreign languages are taught at the University of Utah, emphasizing that cooperation with this university could be beneficial for Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
Bahman Bakhtiari also informed the participants about an international conference titled “Language, Literature and Law: Towards Intercultural Dialogue and Peacebuilding,” planned for the end of April this year. Representatives of higher education institutions from Uzbekistan, the United States, and other countries are expected to participate.
It was also noted that representatives of the Presidential Administration, ministries and agencies, as well as leaders of higher education institutions are expected to attend the event.

At the end of the meeting, the parties discussed organizing online and offline training seminars for teachers, launching student exchange programs, using the Baskerville Institute’s electronic platform for foreign language teaching, and developing cooperation in other mutually beneficial areas.
