A Meeting Was Held with the Director of the Institute of Georgian Language and Literature at Tbilisi State University

On May 12, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University with Professor Irme Ratiani, Director of the Institute of Georgian Language and Literature at Tbilisi State University.

Representing UzSWLU at the meeting were University Rector I. Tuxtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department X. Yuldashev, and Head of the Department of World Literature G. Xalleyeva.

During the meeting, the following key areas were discussed:

— introducing the teaching of the Georgian language at UzSWLU;

— training professional translators in the Georgian language;

— developing cooperation in scientific research;

— jointly organizing seminars, training sessions, conferences, and lectures by professors and teachers in both online and offline formats;

— other issues of mutual interest.

During the meeting, I. Tuxtasinov provided information about the university’s activities and the outcomes of the visit to Georgia held from March 31 to April 3. He also spoke about the ongoing efforts to establish a Georgian Language Center at UzSWLU and to organize Georgian language instruction in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia, Tbilisi State University, the University of Georgia, and Telavi State University.

Professor Irme Ratiani emphasized her readiness to provide comprehensive support in implementing these initiatives and expressed willingness to cooperate in the fields of literary studies and comparative literature.

The meeting concluded with agreements aimed at further strengthening mutual cooperation.
