2026-10-24 11-32 A PhD DISSERTATION DEFENSE HELD AT UZSWLU
On October 23, Sobir Abdusodikovich Tuychiyev defended his dissertation entitled “Structural-Semantic and Functional Features of ICT Terminology in French and Uzbek” at Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU). The dissertation was submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology in the specialty 10.00.13 — Comparative and Contrastive Linguistics.
The meeting of the Academic Council was attended by UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, the official opponents of the dissertation, and members of the academic community.
During the defense, the relevance of the dissertation topic, the scientific novelty of the research, and the theoretical and practical significance of its findings were discussed. The study presents a comparative analysis of the structural and semantic features of information and communication technology (ICT) terminology in French and Uzbek, its place within each language system, and its functional use.
