“An Athlete is a Defender of the Nation!” – A Sports Marathon Was Held with Great Enthusiasm at UzSWLU

In May 2025, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation launched the “Month of Sports” nationwide under the slogan “An Athlete is a Defender of the Nation!” The main goal of this initiative is to increase the physical activity of youth, particularly students, promote a healthy lifestyle, and strengthen their loyalty and pride toward their homeland.

As part of this sports month, several sporting events were organized at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. In particular, a large-scale sports marathon was held with the participation of students, professors, and administrative staff.

The event was opened by the rector of the university, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, who emphasized the role of sports in improving health, strengthening willpower, and fostering patriotism among young people. He also personally took part in the marathon, setting an example of enthusiasm and dedication to sports for the students.

Students from all faculties, leaders of the Youth Union, physical education instructors, and sports club coaches actively participated in the marathon. The event was held in a lively atmosphere, full of healthy competition and unity.

At the end of the event, the winners of the marathon were awarded cash prizes.
