Cambridge University Press & Assessment Representative Visits Uzbekistan State World Languages University

On January 30, Steve King, Head of the Education Reforms Department for Central Asia and the Americas at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, paid a visit to the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

The guest was welcomed by the Rector of the University, I. Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Director of the Network Center for Retraining and Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff J. Abduganiyeva, and Methodologist of the International Cooperation Department M. Ogay.

During the meeting, Steve King noted that he has been familiar with Uzbekistan for a long time and has been actively building a strong bridge of cooperation between Cambridge University Press & Assessment and higher education institutions of Uzbekistan for several years. He also highly praised the scientific heritage of great scholars of the First Renaissance, emphasizing that without their contributions, the formation of the University of Cambridge would have been difficult.

The parties discussed the organization of exchange programs aimed at enhancing the professional qualifications of teachers and staff and reached an agreement on the step-by-step development of cooperation in this area.

At the conclusion of the meeting, two separate bilateral cooperation agreements were signed: one between the Uzbekistan State World Languages University and Cambridge University Press & Assessment, and another between the Network Center for Retraining and Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff and Cambridge University Press & Assessment.
