Cambridge University Representatives Visit UzSWLU

On July 8, 2025, a delegation from the University of Cambridge visited the Uzbekistan State World Languages University (UzSWLU).

During the visit, Cambridge University’s Program Director for Uzbekistan Projects, Ms. Xien Lu, Project Manager Ms. Renata Mjoxa-Reeves, and Financial Manager Mr. Hazem Aldubush held a meeting with UzSWLU Rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov and members of the university’s leadership team.

From the Uzbek side, participants included Rector I. Tukhtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs M. Chutpulatov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Kh. Yuldashev, Director of the National Center for Retraining and Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff J. Abduganieva, Head of the Department for Educational Programs and Best Practices Implementation K. Alimova, and International Cooperation Specialist M. Musabekova.

The discussions focused on:

• Introducing international certification programs such as CELTA, TKT, and DELTA into the local education system;

• Adapting methodological guides to the local context;

• Strategically upgrading teaching methods to meet international standards;

• Developing joint professional development courses and exchange programs.

In addition, the parties discussed creating a joint certification system in collaboration with Cambridge, implementing dual diploma or modular assessment systems, reviewing the infrastructure of the retraining center, and identifying future areas of cooperation.

At the end of the visit, both sides agreed on practical proposals to further expand bilateral collaboration.
