The main purpose of the visit is to implement in practice the cooperation agreement signed by the rectors of Uzbekistan State World Languages University and USM, as well as to establish academic staff and student exchange programs and develop joint educational, research, and cultural initiatives between the two universities.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) consistently holds prestigious positions in global university rankings. According to the QS World University Rankings 2026, USM ranked 134th worldwide, which is considered a strong result among more than one thousand universities. Previously, the university ranked 137th in 2024 and 146th in 2025. In addition, USM secured 14th place globally in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for its contribution to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The School of Language, Literacies and Translation at USM is regarded as one of the leading academic schools engaged in education and research in the fields of languages, literacy, translation, and intercultural communication. The school offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in English studies, foreign languages, translation, and linguistics.

The cooperation meeting was attended by the school’s leadership and leading experts, including the Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Career Development, and International Relations, Mr. Azril Ali; Dr. Manjet Kaur Mehar Singh, responsible for research, innovation, and engagement with industry and society; Dr. Lee Pin Ling, Head of the Foreign Languages Program; and Mr. Wan Azri Wan Hamid, representative of the English Studies program.

During the meeting, the prospective cooperation proposals presented by S. Begmatova—covering joint research projects, academic mobility, faculty and student exchange, international grants, and cultural and educational initiatives—were received with great interest and positively evaluated by the USM representatives.

This working visit is expected to further strengthen international cooperation between the two higher education institutions and contribute to the development of long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships in the fields of education and science.
