Defense of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Dissertation Took Place

On January 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., a meeting of the Academic Council dedicated to the defense of a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertation in Philology was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The meeting was conducted in a traditional (offline) format and simultaneously via the ZOOM online platform.

At the meeting, the dissertation of Abdusalomov Firuz Abduxoliqovich, prepared in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Contrastive Linguistics, and Translation Studies, entitled “Sociolinguistic Features of the Imperative Mood in English and Uzbek Military Discourse,” submitted for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Philology, was defended.

During the defense, the Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, as well as the official opponents, took part and presented their academic conclusions and evaluations of the dissertation.

Members of the Academic Council emphasized the relevance of the research, its scientific novelty, theoretical and methodological soundness, and practical significance. The defense was conducted in accordance with established regulatory requirements in an open and constructive environment.
