The event was attended by Professor Guli Ergasheva, Dean of the Faculty of English Language I at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University and Director of the “UzWAVE – Women and Voices for Equity” Gender Studies Center.

The prestigious forum discussed issues related to ensuring gender equality in education, science, culture, and information, as well as enhancing the social activity of women and girls.

Important initiatives were proposed to integrate gender justice into Uzbekistan’s education system, encourage young women’s participation in scientific research, strengthen their involvement in STEM fields, and expand international cooperation in gender studies.

The event also featured speeches by Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO; Zulaykho Mahkamova, Chairperson of the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Begona Lasagabaster, Director of UNESCO’s Division for Gender Equality.
