Friday has been designated as Sports Day at Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

On April 7, 2026, a videoconference meeting chaired by Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined important tasks to elevate the field of physical education and sports to a new level and to widely engage the population in mass sports. In particular, an initiative was proposed to designate one day of the week as Sports Day.

To ensure the implementation of these tasks, Friday has been declared Sports Day at Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

Accordingly, from early morning today, sports competitions are being organized among professors, staff, and students during their free time from classes. Football, volleyball, and tennis matches are being held in a high-spirited atmosphere.

The university rector, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, is also actively participating in these sports events, taking to the field alongside the teams. This serves as an important example not only of attention to sports but also of promoting a healthy lifestyle.

The joint participation of faculty members and students strengthens team spirit, fosters healthy competition, and enhances a positive environment. Moreover, the direct involvement of university leadership adds special significance and energy to the sporting events.
