UzSWLU Representative Participated in an International Program
From November 9 to 21, 2024, M. Giyosov, a lecturer from the Department of World Literature, participated in a special program held in the United States focused on disability rights and their social integration.
The program aimed to study advanced U.S. practices in protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, promoting inclusive education, creating accessible infrastructure, and ensuring their integration into social life.
During the visit, the university representative became familiar with the activities of the National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) and Gallaudet University in Washington, as well as the Institute on Disabilities at Temple University (UCEDD), the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), and the Pennsylvania Center for Adaptive Sports (PCAS) in Philadelphia.
Through seminars and training sessions held during the trip, M. Giyosov exchanged experiences on innovative approaches to protecting the rights of persons with disabilities, leveraging technological opportunities, and fostering collaboration between governmental and non-governmental organizations. The knowledge and experiences gained through this program are expected to contribute to the development of social inclusion in our country's education system.
