UzDJTU Representatives Visit Indonesian Higher Education Institutions
On February 7, 2025, Abdurahim Nasirov, Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Uzbek State University of World Languages (UzDJTU), and Azimjon Yuldashev, Head of Department, visited the Faculty of Humanities at the State University of Indonesia.
During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on student and faculty exchange programs, grant opportunities, and international scientific cooperation.
The Indonesian side was represented by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Bondan Kanumoyasa, Deputy Dean Dr. Untung Yuwono, Head of the Russian Language Department Dr. Thera Widyastuti, International Office Representative Eva Latifah, PhD, and Dr. Ahmad Fahrurodji.
During the negotiations, Indonesian representatives proposed sending students studying Russian to UzDJTU for exchange programs or summer camp courses, as well as offering UzDJTU students the opportunity to study for one semester at the Indonesian university.
Additionally, discussions covered the use of university platforms for foreign language learning and the publication of scientific articles in Wacana, a journal indexed in Scopus.
At the end of the meeting, an international cooperation agreement was signed, and gifts were exchanged. The UzDJTU delegation was accompanied by university alumnus and Indonesia-Malaysia expert Kahramon Yuldashev, as well as Indonesian specialist Amir Hamza.
Background Information
The State University of Indonesia was established in 1950 and is located in a student campus covering more than 40 hectares in Jakarta. It has 15 faculties, 12 institutes, and 8 research centers. The university ranks 206th in the QS ranking and has approximately 40,000 students, including 5,000 international students.
The Faculty of Humanities offers undergraduate programs in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, German, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Dutch languages, as well as in history, archaeology, and library studies. The master's programs include linguistics, literary studies, archaeology, history, and philosophy, while the doctoral level covers linguistics, literary studies, history, archaeology, philosophy, and informatics.
Each year, the Faculty announces 200 different grants, and UzDJTU bachelor's, master's, and doctoral students have been informed about the opportunity to apply for these grants in 2025 and beyond.
