International Academic Cooperation with Maltese Higher Education Institutions Reaches a New Level

Currently, Professor Ra’no Urishevna Madjidova, Head of the Department of General Linguistics at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, is participating in a series of scientific and academic meetings at the University of Malta (L-Università ta' Malta) and engaging in discussions on the prospects for bilateral cooperation.

On the second day of the visit, Professor R.U. Madjidova delivered a special lecture on “Uzbek Language and Culture”, providing detailed insights into the rich national values of the Uzbek people, the linguocultural characteristics of the language, forms of expressing national thought and culture through language, as well as current key directions in modern Uzbek linguistic research.

The lecture was met with great interest: participants asked numerous questions about the Uzbek language, national traditions, folklore, cultural heritage, and contemporary linguistic studies. This led to fruitful scholarly exchange and fostered an active academic dialogue.

Within the visit, meetings for experience exchange among faculty members were also organized. Discussions addressed certain lexical-semantic and historical-linguistic similarities between Maltese and Uzbek, resulting in preliminary agreements to create a joint lexical-semantic dictionary in the future.

Additionally, Professor R.U. Madjidova conducted a master class for students and young researchers. Recommendations were provided on methods of linguocultural analysis, research of phraseological and paremiological units, modern scientific approaches, and practical analytical techniques.

The interactive format of the master class left a strong impression on participants and served as an important platform for further development of scientific collaboration and academic exchange.
