International Scientific-Practical Conference Held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University

 

 

On April 26, the Department of Theoretical French Studies at the Faculty of Romance-Germanic Philology of Uzbekistan State World Languages University organized an international scientific-practical conference titled “Current Issues in Modern Linguistics: Multilingualism and Intercultural Communication”, dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the academic and professional career of Professor, Doctor of Philology Jamoliddin Abduvaliyevich Yakubov.

 

 

 

The event was held in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PQ-200 dated July 4, 2023, and the order of the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 490 dated December 27, 2024. Representatives from prestigious institutions such as Paris XIII North Sorbonne University, Poitiers University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, the International Association for Solidarity and Education (A.S.I.E.), and other educational and research organizations took part in the event.

 

 

The conference focused on enhancing foreign language teaching through discussions on key areas of linguistics, including linguoculturology, pragmalinguistics, and linguistic folklore. Participants exchanged views on innovative approaches, intercultural communication, translation studies, and issues in computer and corpus linguistics.

 

Renowned scholars, professors, researchers, doctoral candidates, and students actively took part in the conference. The event was held in a hybrid format — both offline and via the ZOOM platform — enabling participation from regional and international experts.

At the conclusion of the event, active participants were awarded electronic certificates. The conference materials will be published on the platform www.myscience.uz.
