International Scientific-Practical Conference Held at UzSWLU
On May 14, the Department of English Language Teaching Methodology and Educational Technologies under the Faculty of English Philology at Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted an international scientific-practical conference titled “Current Issues in Modern Linguistics, Literature, and Teaching Methodology.”
The conference was opened by the university rector, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov.
The event was attended by Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Otabek Yusupov, Dean of the Faculty of English Philology Yusufjon Azzamov, and international and local experts including: U.S. Regional English Language Specialist for Central Asia Kevin McCaughey, U.S. State Department representative and English Language Fellow in Nukus Dr. Giuseppe Chiaramonte, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Professor Laylo Ahmadova, Associate Professor at the TIHAME National Research University Dr. Nafis Mahmudkhon, Senior Lecturer at Tashkent International University of Chemical Technology Tolibjon Yuldoshev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Valentina Normuratova, and others.
The agenda included topics such as critical thinking technologies in foreign language instruction, artificial intelligence and digital technologies, academic writing, translation methodology, and other pressing issues.
The program featured plenary sessions, section presentations, a book lottery, and a certificate awarding ceremony. Scientific sessions covered areas such as modern linguistics, foreign language teaching methodology, and educational innovations.
The conference served as an important platform for strengthening academic cooperation, exchanging experiences, and applying global approaches in the field of pedagogy.
