KOICA Volunteer Report Meeting and Farewell Ceremony Held at UzSWLU

 

On April 18, 2025, Uzbekistan State World Languages University hosted a report meeting and farewell ceremony marking the completion of a three-month service by the first group of project-based KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) volunteers.

 

The event was opened by Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Abdurakhim Nasirov, who emphasized that the partnership with KOICA represents a significant step in integrating international experience into Uzbekistan’s education system and enhancing the language learning process.

 

The event was attended by staff members of the KOICA Uzbekistan Office, led by Deputy Director Mr. So Wan Su, as well as the principals and teachers of Schools No. 283 and No. 81, where the volunteers had been active.

 

For reference, under KOICA Project 1, 15 Korean professionals and 14 volunteers worked over three months at Uzbekistan State World Languages University and several general education schools. They contributed to teaching Korean language, promoting Korean culture, and sparking greater interest in Korean language and culture among students by fostering a friendly educational environment.

 

During the event, presentations summarizing the volunteers’ work were shown, and creative performances by schoolchildren and university students were presented to the guests.

At the conclusion of the event, KOICA volunteers were awarded certificates of appreciation on behalf of the university.

 

For your information, the KOICA Project 1 volunteers will return to the Republic of Korea on April 25, 2025. The next, second group of volunteers is scheduled to arrive in Uzbekistan on May 6.
