Korea–Uzbekistan University Rectors’ Forum Continues
According to the forum’s agenda, participants visited Ajou University in Korea on December 5, 2025.
For reference: Ajou University is a private research university founded in 1973. It offers education and conducts research in engineering, information technology, business, medicine, humanities, linguistics, social sciences, and many other fields. The university has nearly 14,000 students across bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs.
Ajou University cooperates with more than 330 universities worldwide. It offers international exchange programs, summer schools, and Korean language and culture programs.
The Uzbekistan branch of Ajou University began operating in 2020. It offers bachelor's degree programs in architecture, civil engineering, electrical and computer engineering, IT business, language studies, and other fields.
Ajou University is recognized in South Korea and actively participates in international rankings. The university places strong emphasis on education quality, scientific research, and international cooperation. Under its new “Vision 4.0” strategy, collaboration with industry, academic innovation, and research initiatives have been strengthened. Ajou University carries out various projects with such prestigious institutions as Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, as well as major global companies.
The 17th President of Ajou University, Professor Choi Ki-Ju (specializing in transport systems engineering), is actively implementing the university’s development strategy focused on innovation and future-oriented growth — expanding international partnerships, opening new faculties and programs, and strengthening cooperation with industry. He gave a presentation for the guests on the digitalization of the university’s educational processes, including the use of artificial intelligence. Participants then toured the university’s infrastructure, modern laboratories, and research centers, and exchanged proposals for strengthening mutual cooperation.
The next destination was the Samsung company museum. The museum displays exhibits representing the company’s history, present-day achievements, products, and technological advancements. Forum participants received detailed information about the company’s activities, the modern technologies applied in production, and its accomplishments. Technical devices and tools produced by Samsung and used in educational processes were also demonstrated.
