On October 17, a meeting took place with Jamila Gulamova, Deputy Director of the British Council's office in Uzbekistan, and Michael Connolly, Director of English Language Programs.

The Rector of UzSWLU, I. Tukhtasinov, provided detailed information to the guests about the ongoing work within the university’s development strategy, specifically regarding the effective activities in training qualified specialists in English and important projects being implemented in collaboration with the British Council.

He expressed gratitude to the British Council leaders for their over 20 years of support for the university.

Additionally, he proposed developing various projects to promote independent learning, introduce effective assessment mechanisms, and implement these in collaboration with the British Council, leveraging the rich experience of British universities.

Jamila Gulamova noted that "Continuing Professional Development" and Inclusive Education are significant projects currently being implemented by the British Council, with particular attention to "University Governance."

Michael Connolly shared that English teachers can use electronic resources, online platforms, and mobile applications developed by the British Council for free to enhance their qualifications. I. Tukhtasinov suggested that presentations on recommended resources and materials from Michael Connolly and his colleagues for the attendees of the UzSWLU Center for Retraining and Professional Development would be beneficial.
