Meeting between rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University I.M. Tukhtasinov and Representatives of the Iraqi Delegation Visiting the 150th Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly

The meeting was attended by Dr. Jaber al-Temimi, the Acting Representative of Iraq in Kazakhstan; Dr. Musanna Nader, Member of the Iraqi Parliament and Professor at the University of Sulaymaniyah; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation A. Nasirov; Head of the International Cooperation Department H. Yuldashev; Dean of the Faculty of Translation U. Yuldashev; Head of the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice K. Qodirova; and Arabic language instructor at UzSWLU (from Iraq), Ahmad Jasem Al-Zubaidi.

During the meeting, Dr. Jaber al-Temimi proposed establishing cooperation with higher education institutions in Iraq. Topics discussed included student, teacher, and PhD candidate exchange programs; professional development and internship opportunities; organizing international conferences, seminars, and webinars; recruiting Arabic language teachers to UzSWLU; and enrolling Iraqi citizens in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs at the university.

Dr. Musanna Nader, Member of the Iraqi Parliament and Professor at the University of Sulaymaniyah, delivered a lecture to students of the Faculty of Translation titled "The Attractiveness of the Arabic Language and Challenges in Teaching it as a Foreign Language."
