Meeting with the Head of the German Language Department of Paderborn University (Germany)

On October 8, a meeting was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages with the Head of the German Language Department of Paderborn University, Germany.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Konstanze Niederhaus, Head of the German Language Department at Paderborn University, and Iroda Ismailova, a PhD candidate and lecturer at the same university.

From UzSWLU, the participants included Rector Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Akmal Nasirov, Head of the International Cooperation Department Khurshid Yuldashev, Dean of the Faculty of Translation Ulugbek Yuldoshev, Head of the Department of Romano-German Translation Studies Laziz Kholiyarov, and Head of the Department of Theoretical German Studies Ilhom Ziyadullaev.

During the meeting, the following topics were discussed:

• Professional development of German language teachers at Paderborn University;

• Invitation of Paderborn University experts to UzSWLU;

• Establishment of exchange programs for teachers, young researchers, and students;

• Sending Paderborn University students to UzSWLU for internships;

• Joint development of educational materials such as textbooks, teaching manuals, field-specific dictionaries, and other resources;

• Joint participation in training courses, seminars, conferences, and symposia;

• Organization of summer schools for students;

• Discussion of other mutually relevant issues.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in academic, educational, and cultural areas, to implement joint projects, and to expand international exchange of experience.
