2026-10-31 10-06 OFFICIAL MEETING HELD WITH A DELEGATION FROM MALAYSIA’S UTHM UNIVERSITY
On 31 October, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University Ilhomjon Tukhtasinov held an official meeting with a delegation from Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia University (UTHM).
The UTHM delegation included Professor Dr. Mohd Haziman Wan Ibrahim, Associate Professor Dr. Izudinshah Abd Wahab, Associate Professor Azmi bin Abdul Latiff, and Senior Assistant Architect Mohd Ayub Sahlan. The delegation also included 10 students from the Malaysian university.
Uzbekistan State World Languages University was represented by Rector Ilhomjon Tukhtasinov; Vice-Rector for International Cooperation Abdurahim Nosirov; Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Otabek Yusupov; Director of the Sectoral Centre for Retraining and Professional Development of Pedagogical Staff J. Abdughaniyeva; Leading Specialist of the International Cooperation Department D. Khodjabekova; and M. Musabekova, who is responsible for international cooperation at the Centre.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the significance of the architectural model of the Petronas Twin Towers (KLCC), created by UTHM faculty members and students, as a symbol of friendship and cooperation between the two universities.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects for expanding academic mobility between the two higher education institutions, developing faculty and student exchanges, sharing experience, and implementing joint projects.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides emphasised the importance of further strengthening cooperation and promoting new initiatives in education and research. As part of the official meeting, representatives of the two universities exchanged commemorative gifts and took a group photograph.
