OFFICIAL STATEMENT
It has been observed that some social media users are spreading unfounded and misleading interpretations regarding students of higher education institutions.
As is known, during the extended meeting held by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on August 8, 2025, as well as during the dialogue on February 24, 2026 dedicated to expanding opportunities to support youth initiatives, specific tasks were outlined regarding ensuring employment of university graduates, preparing them for the labor market, developing practical skills, and facilitating their placement in достойные jobs.
Additionally, Presidential Resolution No. PQ-61 identifies ensuring graduate employment, strengthening connections with employers, improving internship systems, and training specialists in line with labor market demands as priority areas.
To implement these tasks, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages is conducting systematic and targeted work with graduating students. In particular, measures are being taken to introduce students to available job vacancies, organize direct meetings with employers, integrate internships with the real sector, and assist in their employment.
It should be noted that all efforts of the university are aimed at ensuring student employment, enhancing their professional competence, and helping them secure достойные positions in the labor market.
In terms of results, under the “Step into the Future” program, 27 graduates received financial support totaling 5 billion 857 million soums, resulting in the creation of 95 new jobs. These outcomes demonstrate practical support for youth initiatives, their engagement in real activities, and the formation of sustainable income sources.
Important note: employment indicators of university graduates are formed solely based on officially confirmed and stable jobs. Self-employment cases are not included in the overall employment statistics as they do not fully confirm stable employment.
The fact that some graduates are not immediately employed may be due to objective reasons. For instance, some continue their studies abroad, are on parental leave, or temporarily remain outside the labor market due to personal reasons.
Therefore, claims circulating on social media about “artificial inflation of employment figures through forced self-employment” are not true.
As for the screenshots published online, there is no reliable evidence confirming that they originate from university staff correspondence. If concrete and substantiated information is provided, it will be reviewed in accordance with установленными procedures, and appropriate measures will be taken.
We urge the public to approach unverified and one-sided information on social media with critical thinking. The university operates in compliance with current legal regulations and adheres strictly to the principles of openness and transparency.
