On March 3, the next session of the Scientific Seminar on Dissertation Research was held at the Rectorate building of Uzbekistan State World Languages University as well as via the ZOOM online platform

During the session, the dissertation of Mirvoxid Mirsultonovich Fozilov entitled “The Verbalization of Zoonyms in the Translations of the Works of Ernest Thompson Seton (based on Uzbek and English materials)” was discussed. The dissertation was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philological Sciences in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature, Contrastive Linguistics, and Translation Studies.

Throughout the seminar, the relevance of the research, its scientific novelty, and its theoretical and practical significance were thoroughly analyzed. The researcher’s scholarly investigations conducted on the basis of Uzbek and English literary texts, as well as his conclusions regarding the specific features of the verbal expression of zoonyms in translation, generated active discussion among specialists.

The reviewers also provided well-grounded evaluations and constructive recommendations regarding the dissertation.

At the conclusion of the discussion, it was emphasized that the dissertation is academically sound, relevant, and fully meets the requirements of the specialty. A corresponding decision was made to recommend it for the next stage.
