Online Meeting Held with the University of Barcelona (Spain)
On September 13, a productive online meeting was held between representatives of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University — Dean of the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology Mr. K. Khakimov and Head of the Department of Applied Spanish Language Ms. D. Bakhronova — and the leadership of the Faculty of Philology and Communication at the University of Barcelona (Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació).
During the meeting, agreements were reached on the following key areas:

launching student and faculty mobility programs;

organizing joint scientific projects and conferences;

strengthening cultural and academic ties.
This cooperation plays an important role in the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly “Quality Education” and “Partnerships for the Goals.”
Background: The University of Barcelona (Universitat de Barcelona) is one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in Europe. Founded in 1450, it is recognized today as one of the world's leading centers of science and education.
The Facultat de Filologia i Comunicació is a leading academic center in the fields of philology, literary studies, translation, journalism, and communication. Languages such as English, Spanish, Catalan, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Arabic, and others are studied in depth.
