2026-08-25 10-58 A Study on the Prevention of Drug-Related Crimes Was Conducted at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages
In accordance with the work plan of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the second half of 2026, it is planned to study the use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic and other potent substances among young people and women at higher education institutions in Tashkent, the causes of their spread, and the effectiveness of preventive measures.
As part of the implementation of these tasks, a study was conducted at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages by a working group headed by Bahodir Nasriddinovich Boborajabov, First Vice-Rector of TCTI and head of the working group. The working group also included Shakhlo Abrorovna Aripova, a responsible officer of the Youth Affairs Agency, and Ravshan Turgunovich G‘oziyev, Head of a Department at TCTI.
During the study, the implementation of the tasks outlined in Presidential Decree No. PF-207 of November 3, 2025, “On Comprehensive Measures to Effectively Protect Public Health and the National Gene Pool from Drug Addiction and Drug-Related Crimes” was analyzed, with particular attention paid to efforts aimed at preventing drug addiction among young people and women.
The study examined the organization of preventive activities aimed at preventing the use of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and other potent substances at the university, awareness-raising and educational activities conducted with students, as well as the activities of responsible university structures in this area.
Measures aimed at creating a healthy and safe environment for students, organizing their leisure time meaningfully, involving them in sports and beneficial activities, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and increasing awareness of the negative consequences of drug use were also reviewed.
Following the study, relevant recommendations and proposals were provided regarding the identified issues. The participants also expressed their views on further improving preventive activities and strengthening necessary measures to protect young people from risks associated with drugs.
