On March 28, a seminar began at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages for translators who will accompany foreign guests and assist with translation at the Inter-Parliamentary Union’s 150th anniversary assembly.

The event was opened by Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, the rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages.

 

 

The main topics of the seminar were:

  • Preparation for the 150th anniversary assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union — receiving and escorting event guests, the working procedure for translators.

  • Reforms implemented under the "Uzbekistan – 2030" strategy.

  • “Parliamentary Movement for Social Development and Justice” — issues of social protection and poverty reduction.

  • Volunteer ethics and communication culture — communication culture and ethics for escorts and volunteers.

The seminar's objectives:

  • Preparing translators to accompany foreign guests.

  • Ensuring effective work during the Inter-Parliamentary Union assembly.

  • Explaining important issues during the event preparation process.

 

 

During the seminar, lectures and discussions on these topics were held. Translators were provided with information on speech culture, ethics, and volunteer culture. Participants had the opportunity to develop practical skills.

The seminar took place in the activity hall of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, with volunteer translators from the Uzbekistan National University, the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan participating.

The seminar featured speakers: Sh. Zokirov, a responsible official of the Cabinet of Ministers and Coordinator of the Central Headquarters; A. Abduganiyev, a responsible official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a member of the Central Headquarters; Sh. Asadov, Professor at the State Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ph.D. in Law; M. Bekmuradov, Head of the Department at the State Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan; and A. Rasulov, Professor at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy.

These specialists gave important lectures for volunteer translators and provided practical advice.
