2026-08-18 03-54 PhD Dissertation Defense Held
Today, on August 17, a dissertation defense was held at the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philological Sciences. The dissertation, prepared by Mirvokhid Mirsultonovich Fozilov in the specialty 10.00.06 – Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, was entitled “The Verbalization of Zoonyms in the Translations of E.S. Thompson’s Works (Based on Materials from the English, Uzbek, and Russian Languages)”.
The meeting of the Academic Council was attended by the Rector of the University, Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, the scientific supervisor of the dissertation, and official opponents.
The defense was conducted both offline and via the ZOOM online platform. During the session, participants discussed the relevance of the research topic, its scientific novelty, and its theoretical and practical significance. The researcher also presented the main findings and conclusions of the study.
