2026-08-17 11-47 PhD Dissertation Defense Held at UzSWLU
On August 14, a dissertation defense was held at a meeting of the Academic Council under the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages. Ravshan Tursunovich Saidov defended his dissertation entitled “Improving Philology Students’ Reading Competence Based on English Literary Texts”, prepared for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pedagogical Sciences in the specialty 13.00.02 – Theory and Methodology of Education and Upbringing (English Language).
The defense was held both offline and online via the ZOOM platform. The event was attended by Ilkhomjon Tuxtasinov, Rector of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, members of the Academic Council, the academic supervisor, official opponents, and faculty members.
During the defense, the researcher’s academic work, the scientific and theoretical views presented in the dissertation, as well as methodological approaches aimed at developing philology students’ reading competence were discussed and commented upon.
The official opponents presented their respective conclusions and recommendations regarding the dissertation.
During the meeting of the Academic Council, a question-and-answer session and discussion of the dissertation were held, and the research findings were comprehensively reviewed.
