PhD Dissertation Defense in Philology Held

On January 16, 2026, a meeting of the Academic Council under the Uzbekistan State World Languages University was held, during which a PhD dissertation in philological sciences was defended. The academic event was organized in both offline (in-person) format and via the ZOOM online platform.

The dissertation titled “The Sociolinguistic Aspect of Linguistic Identity among Multilingual Uzbek Students”, written by Iroda Bobir qizi Ibrakhimova in the specialty 10.00.11 — Theory of Language. Applied and Computational Linguistics, was presented for discussion.

The defense was attended by the university rector Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, the academic supervisor, and official opponents.

Based on the opinions expressed and the question-and-answer session, the scientific novelty and practical significance of the research were thoroughly discussed, and the defense was concluded in accordance with established procedures.
