Priority Areas of Cooperation Identified During the Visit of the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to UzSWLU
On December 12, 2025, H.E. Tamer Fathy Abdussalam Hammad, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Uzbekistan, together with Ms. Hannan Bashari, Ambassador’s Adviser and Consul, paid an official visit to Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
During the visit, the Ambassador highly praised the attention given to teaching the Arabic language at UzSWLU. He spoke about the long-standing historical relations between Egypt and Uzbekistan, noted the strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, and expressed readiness to elevate friendly ties in science and education to a new level.
UzSWLU Rector I. Tukhtasinov briefed the guests on the university’s activities in foreign language education, particularly Arabic, as well as on the training of qualified specialists in international journalism, media and communication, international relations, world economy, management, and political science. Detailed information was also provided on the university’s achievements in international rankings and its international partnerships.
H.E. Tamer Fathy Abdussalam Hammad proposed the following areas for further cooperation:

establishing and developing partnerships with leading Egyptian universities such as Cairo University, Ain Shams University, and Al-Azhar University;

launching joint educational programs;

engaging qualified Egyptian professors in the field of simultaneous interpretation;

allocating grants for students to participate in short-term training courses;

expanding cooperation in journalism, media and communication, political science, and international relations;

organizing professional development courses for Arabic and Russian language teachers;

launching Arabic language courses for students and the general public.
The leadership of UzSWLU proposed organizing a Forum of University Rectors of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Arab Republic of Egypt in Egypt or Uzbekistan to further strengthen cooperation in science and research, including the integration of artificial intelligence into the education system.
Both sides expressed confidence that the visit would contribute to elevating scientific and cultural cooperation between the two countries to a new stage.
