Prospects for Cooperation Between UzSWLU and the University of Hamburg Discussed
On June 21, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the Uzbek State World Languages University (UzSWLU), O. Yusupov, welcomed Professor Telse Ivers, Head of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research Programs of the University of Hamburg, and Erasmus+ Program Coordinator Dilbar Ernazarova.
The meeting included presentations on UzSWLU’s activities, its position in international rankings, the current state of German language instruction, and proposals for scientific and academic cooperation.
Also in attendance were Head of the International Cooperation Department Kh. Yuldashev, Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies U. Yuldoshev, Head of the Department of Romance-Germanic Translation Studies L. Kholiyarov, and Head of the German Language Department I. Ziyodullayev.
Professor Ivers provided information on the University of Hamburg’s academic operations, fields of study, international ranking status, and language policy. According to her, the university has over 47,000 students, with most programs taught in German.
The parties agreed to establish faculty and student exchange programs, initiate practical internships within the Erasmus+ and DAAD projects, collaborate on scientific research, and sign a Memorandum outlining the legal basis for cooperation.
