Prospects of the “Latin Language” Subject Discussed in Tashkent

On April 12, an academic-methodological conference with international participation titled “Medical Education Reforms: Prospects for the Development of the Latin Language Subject” was held in cooperation between the Tashkent State Dental Institute and Uzbekistan State World Languages University.

The event was attended by Ilhomjon Tuxtasinov, Rector of Uzbekistan State World Languages University, and Nodir Qodirovich Khaydarov, Rector of Tashkent State Dental Institute. The conference focused on the importance of Latin and medical terminology, its role in the education system, and future development directions.

As is well known, Latin is considered the foundational language of medicine. On the initiative of the Tashkent State Dental Institute, Uzbekistan established the country’s only department of “Latin and Foreign Languages in Medicine.” During the conference, moderated by the head of this department, Maqsuda Nigmatullayevna Israilova, a diploma awarding ceremony was also held for the graduates of the retraining course for teachers of “Fundamentals of Latin and Medical Terminology.”
