On February 21, the delegation headed by the rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University I. Tukhtasinov visited Algiers-2 University located in the Republic of Algeria. During the visit, the members of the group got to know the activities of the university.

Algiers-2 University named after Abu al-Qasim Saadallo consists of 4 faculties: humanities, social sciences, Arabic language and literature,  oriental languages and foreign languages, as well as archeology and translation studies institutes. In particular, the center for intensive teaching of foreign languages is also active.

More than 40,000 students study Arabic and French at the university, and about 1,500 professors work. English, French, Spanish, German, and Russian languages are taught at the Faculty of Foreign Languages. In the direction of translation studies, the methods of translation from 3 languages: Arabic, French, English and into those languages are taught. All classes for learners are conducted in Arabic and French.

On the same day, a memorandum of cooperation between the two higher educational institutions was signed by Professor Al Said Rahmon, Rector of Algiers-2 University, and Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov, Rector of UzSWLU.

Also, during the meeting, ideas were exchanged between the two higher education institutions regarding the exchange of students, exchange of teachers, development of international relations within the framework of projects, joint implementation of scientific research, opportunities to establish joint educational programs, publication of articles.

In the same academic year, 10 professors from UzSWLU will be trained at Algiers-2 University and starting from the new academic year, students studying Arabic, French, English and translation studies will be sent to this university for one semester and students studying Russian at Algiers-2 University will be sent to UzSWLU. it was also agreed on creating conditions for their studies.
