On April 18, a scientific-practical conference titled “The Great Path of Enlightenment” was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University.
This spiritual and educational event was organized at the initiative of teachers and students of the UzSWLU Academic Lyceum, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 462, dated December 27, 2024 — “On the wide celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mahmudkhoja Behbudi, founder of the Turkestan Jadid movement, prominent writer, public figure, publisher, and educator”. The aim was to enrich the ongoing spiritual-educational activities in our country with meaningful content.
The event gathered history, Uzbek language, and literature teachers from academic lyceums across the country, as well as inquisitive and research-minded students, both in-person and virtually.
The conference was also attended by professionals in the field of pedagogy, dedicated professors and lecturers, and esteemed guests from abroad — including representatives of the Turkish Embassy, Ege University Associate Professor Yılmaz Özkaya, and Ms. Russell Haley Danielle from the state of Texas, USA.
Throughout the conference, scholars in literature presented valuable insights and information in their speeches and presentations.
Mahmudkhoja Behbudi was a great figure who guided our ancestors from darkness toward light, steadfastly walked the path of national identity and awakening, and devoted his life to enlightenment and his nation. This event, dedicated to his memory, left a strong and lasting impression on all participants.
