Sports Competitions “Olympiad of Students of New Uzbekistan” to Be Held

On March 26, a meeting dedicated to the organization of the sports competitions “Olympiad of Students of New Uzbekistan” was held. The meeting was attended by rectors and vice-rectors of higher education institutions of the republic, as well as heads of sports clubs. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Qo‘ng‘irotboy Sharipov.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and representatives of Uzbekistan State World Languages University also participated online.

These competitions, aimed at widely engaging students in sports, are being held in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the National Olympic Committee.

The Olympiad will be organized in 3 stages:

— at the level of higher education institutions (April 1–30);
— regional stage (May 1–15);
— national final (June 1–10).

The competitions will include 7 sports — 3x3 basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics, table tennis, swimming, and football — and will be held among all state, private, and foreign higher education institutions of the country.
