The 11th Meeting of the University Council Held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University
On 30 June, the 11th meeting of the University Council was held at Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The meeting was chaired by M. Ch. Chutpo‘latov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
The agenda included a number of important issues related to the university’s priority areas of activity. In particular, participants reviewed the implementation of the decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, government documents, and assignments issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as well as the current status of work with appeals submitted by individuals and legal entities.
Reports were also presented on the implementation of the Five Important Initiatives aimed at enhancing the spiritual and cultural development of young people and ensuring the meaningful use of their free time, the achievement of target indicators in international cooperation, the attraction of international investment and grant funding, the export of educational services, the monitoring of the effectiveness of research candidates, and student mobility during the 2025/2026 academic year.
During the meeting, participants also discussed the activities of the University Council and the implementation of its adopted decisions, as well as the teaching practice of students of the Faculty of Russian Philology.
Under the agenda item "Miscellaneous," the Council reviewed the outcomes of international research internships completed by doctoral candidates and independent researchers, the activities of the university’s scientific journals, the nomination of candidates for the Presidential and other state scholarships, annual leave arrangements for academic staff, approval of the University Council's work plan for the 2026/2027 academic year, the effectiveness of the tutoring system, and measures taken to improve the professional qualifications of teaching staff.
The Council also approved the dissertation topics of several PhD students and independent researchers. Relevant decisions were adopted regarding the recommendation of faculty members' scientific monographs for publication, as well as recommendations for the conferment of the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor and appointments to corresponding academic positions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, reports and information on all agenda items were heard, and appropriate decisions were adopted to ensure the effective implementation of the planned activities and the timely and high-quality fulfilment of the assigned tasks.
