THE ARABIC LANGUAGE IN THE ERA OF GLOBALIZATION: INNOVATIVE APPROACHES AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference

Today, on December 18, the 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference entitled “The Arabic Language in the Era of Globalization: Innovative Approaches and Teaching Methodology” was held at the Uzbekistan State World Languages University. The conference was organized by the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice of the Faculty of Translation Studies.

As part of the conference, an exhibition showcasing students’ extracurricular club activities was presented on the first floor of the main building of the university.

The scientific part of the event opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Uzbekistan. A welcoming address was delivered by the Rector of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov.

This was followed by a speech from the Dean of the Faculty of Translation Studies, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Ulugbek Ravshanbekovich Yuldoshev. Additionally, Davronbek Abdullayev, Chief Specialist of the Department for State Orders at the Agency of Cinematography under the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, delivered a congratulatory address.

During the conference, presentations were given by Associate Professor of the Department of Arabic Translation Theory and Practice of the Faculty of Translation Studies, Dr. Sayed Kuraym, on “Innovative Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Teaching Arabic”;
Nabila Kandil on “Linguistic Features of the Arabic Language in the Age of Artificial Intelligence”;
and Dr. Salhi Rachad on “The Translated Book Project”.

Moreover, Professor of the Arabic Language Academy of a Danish university, Dr. Salam Dimyai, sent a video greeting to the participants.

The Head of the Department, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Kamala Salikhovna Qodirova, provided detailed information about oratory, calligraphy, singing, and translation art competitions organized within the framework of the “Arabic Language Week” dedicated to December 18 — the International Day of the Arabic Language — as well as about the activities of eight student clubs operating under the department.

At the conclusion of the event, the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovations of the Uzbekistan State World Languages University, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Philology, Associate Professor Otabek Yakubovich Yusupov, presented letters of appreciation to department lecturers who are providing translation services for Palestinians under the leadership of the university rector, and awarded the winners of the “Arabic Language Week” competitions with certificates and valuable gifts.

In the second, cultural part of the conference, first- and second-year students of the Faculties of Translation Studies and Oriental Philology performed Arabic songs.
