The delegation of the Uzbek State University of World Languages continues its trip in order to establish cooperation relations with prestigious higher educational institutions in Brazil.

In particular, on November 29, 2024, members of the delegation visited the Brazilian University of Campinas and took part in a meeting organized with the participation of representatives of the leadership of this higher educational institution.

The event was attended by Antonio Meirelles, Rector of the Brazilian University of Campinas, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Professor Oswaldir Pereira Taranto, Director of the Institute of Foreign Languages, Professor Petrilson Alan Pinheiro da Silva, Head of the Department of International Cooperation Mayara Pereira Morais and members of the delegation headed by Rector UZGUM and Professor Ilkhomjon Tukhtasinov.  

During the dialogue, the parties held important negotiations on cooperation in various fields with the State University of World Languages of Uzbekistan and the University of Brazil, which ranks 232nd in the international ranking of world universities. 

The rector of UzSWLU, Professor I.Tukhtasinov, told his colleagues about the effective reforms being implemented in the higher education system of Uzbekistan, the state policy on teaching foreign languages in our country, in particular, about the attention paid to this area by our President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The participants were shown videos about the rich history and cultural heritage of our independent republic, as well as about the activities of the independent republic. 

The leadership of the University of Campinas stressed that they had found a new world, a reliable partner and an important support for the future. 

During the negotiations, to establish an exchange of teachers, students and researchers, to develop joint educational programs, to improve the qualifications of professors and teachers, to organize scientific internships and scientific and practical conferences at the international level, and an agreement was reached on cooperation in mutually beneficial areas.

As one of the main issues, at the suggestion of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the introduction of Portuguese language teaching at the State University of World Languages of Uzbekistan, the involvement of native speakers from the University of Campinas, local experts and other important issues were discussed.

Following the meeting, the heads of UzSWLU and the University of Campinas signed a cooperation agreement, based on the agreements reached, it was decided to prepare and sign a Roadmap
