The final stage of the traditional “Freshmen Battle” competition, regularly organized at the Faculty of English Philology of the Uzbekistan State University of World Languages, was held.

The competition was opened by the university rector, I. Tukhtasinov, who wished all participating teams good luck and success. During the event, students demonstrated their English language proficiency, creative approach, stage culture, and teamwork skills.

As part of the “Freshmen Battle” competition, each group presented the national traditions, culture, customs, and lifestyle of a randomly selected country in English. Through stage performances, national costumes, artistic presentations, and engaging demonstrations, participants sought to capture the audience’s attention.

For reference, the semi-final stage of the competition had been held earlier, while around eight teams competed in today’s final round.

The final consisted of the following stages:

Stage 1 — Introduction: five-minute team presentations;

Stage 2 — Intellectual quiz: answering questions related to English language, culture, and general knowledge;

Stage 3 — Stage performance: creative performances dedicated to the culture and traditions of the selected country.

According to the final results:

Grand Prize — Group FING-2519 (Uzbekistan)

1st place — Group FING-2507 (Spain)

2nd place — Group FING-2525 (England)

3rd place — Group FING-2515 (India)

The following nomination winners were also announced:

“Most Cheerful Girl” — Shahnoza Ne’matjonova

“Most Cheerful Boy” — Muhammadqodir Abdumalikov

The competition served as an important initiative aimed at increasing students’ interest in learning foreign languages, strengthening teamwork, and fostering respect for the cultures of different nations.
